STRATEGIES, AND TAXES IN A NUTSHELL
This course explores the types of retirement plans, starting with Social Security, then discussing traditional and Roth IRAs, and finishing with an overview of the characteristics of employer-sponsored qualified plans.
Major topics include:
- Explaining the rules for Social Security eligibility and the levels of benefits;
- Discussing the types and features of traditional IRAs, including contribution rules and limits, distribution rules, and taxation;
- Discussing the features of Roth IRAs, including contribution rules and limits, distribution rules, and taxation as well as traditional IRA to Roth IRA rollover or conversion rules; and
- Describing the characteristics and features of employer-sponsored qualified retirement plans including coverage and eligibility requirements, contributions limits, vesting schedules, integration with Social Security, and the top-heavy rules as well as performing retirement needs analysis and determining the feasibility of installing a qualified plan.
