Overview

The Department of Labor (DOL) has issued final regulations that extend overtime pay to nearly five million additional workers effective December 1st, 2016. Assuming other criteria are met, the salary level to qualify as an exempt employee has been increased from $23,660.00 to $47,476.00. It is critical that business owners do not run afoul of these new rules and understand when and if they will be required to pay overtime pay to their employees.
